Tabeo, the Next Tablet for Kids

In a previous post, we talked about some kid-friendly tablets. Children in this generation are growing up fast with smartphones and tablets as their toys. Touch screens are the norm! With this in mind, Toys R’ Us is launching a new tablet aimed at young children. Like the many other tablets out there, it comes with an app store but this tablet is already preloaded with 50 free apps, some of which are educational. In addition to apps, Tabeo also comes with parental controls to limit their child’s usage.

Tabeo runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) system and also comes with an integrated camera, Wifi capabilities and 4GM of RAM. Since it’s aimed at kids, it comes with a kid-friendly green bumper around the edge. The tablet has a 7 inch screen and a price tag of $150. Not exactly cheap but in a better price range than an iPad. Perhaps with Tabeo, parents will no longer need to share their iPads anymore. Tabeo can be found in Toys R’ Us stores starting Oct. 21.
