1.If you have more than one child, there are lots of school supplies you can reuse such as pencil crayons (no one ever really uses those up!). Need binders? Ask around for used ones because people throw away their used papers every year so they may be able to spare a few.
2. If you have textbooks that can be reused for your other kids, make sure to wrap them so that they don’t end up as dog-earred and tattered. No one wants ugly hand-me-downs!
3. Set a budget for your shopping trip. If your kids are old enough to learn some money management, let them decide which products they really need. Do we need the sparkly pink pencil case with the unicorns or the plain black one?
4. Stockpile those supplies! When you find a really good deal on something, buy extra! You never know when it’ll come in handy right?
The best tip is probably to wait until school has already started to buy your supplies because we all know there will be huge discounts so if you can just hold your hats and wait! That’s how you save money. ;) Finally, remember the 3 R’s: reduce, reuse, and recycle!
