Halloween today is quite different from Halloween 10 years ago. There seems to be an app for everything these days. Good thing the candy part hasn’t changed that much (mmm Coffee Crisp). Okay, enough day-dreaming about candy. Let’s get this Halloween party started.
Pumpkin carving is a super fun holiday extravaganza. But sometimes it can turn into an early 2012 apocalypse, or even a painful trip to the hand surgeon’s office. The good news is that there is now a way to avoid that potential mess of pulps and bloody fingers.
“Carve-a-Pumpkin” is a free iOS app by Parents Magazine and is touted as a safer way for small children to “carve” their own Jack-’o-lantern from start to finish. You can choose from 5 different pumpkin styles and can either draw the face free-style or pick from a library of facial features.
2) Trick or Tracker
If you’re worried about your kids traipsing the neighbourhood on the spookiest night of the year with only their friends, this $4.99 app may give you a peace of mind. In a nutshell, the app (available on several mobile platforms) updates parents on their children’s whereabouts by sending a text of their location. The app needs be downloaded on both the parents’ and child’s phones, and works on GPS.
The great thing is that this app isn’t only restricted to use on Halloween.
And that’s all for now! Stop by our Twitter and Facebook pages when you’re done checking out these apps!
