Sesame Street has won the hearts of many young children everywhere and probably some parents too. After all they’re probably the most educational TV show out there. Ok maybe I’m a little biased since I grew up with Sesame Street myself. Now our favourite Sesame Street friend, Elmo, has a new iPad game! This time he will be teaching us the 123s along with his friend Abby. It was released last week and the purpose of the app is to teach young children the numbers 1-20. This is achieved through number games, jig saw puzzles and colouring pages. Elmo will aim to teach your young ones a host of new skills such as addition and subtraction, problem solving and of course number identification.
I think this would be a pretty fun app for kids who are fans of Elmo and Sesame Street. However, it does come with a price tag of $4.99 which is a little steep for this app. Remember, parental guidance should also be used to make educational apps as effective as possible. Just because an app is labeled as educational doesn’t mean that it should be ‘babysitting’ your child. If you’re interested, there is also Elmo Loves ABCs as well!
